Winter might not have arrived yet but its just around the corner.
The "Compagnie Du Montblanc" in Chamonix have not had the best start to the season this year with cable problems on the Aiguille du midi causing it to remain shut until the end of December 2018.
And then, just when you thought it couldn't get any worse the Lognon cable car station (which houses the arrival and departure of the Grand Montets cable car) burns to the ground. It wont open this winter at all and i suspect they will struggle to open for next winter too.
Luckily they built the new Plan Joran bubble a few years ago which will be the only way to access Grand Montets this year, there will be no lift access to the top station at all. Rumour has it there will be a maintained skinning track to get skiers who wish into the Argentiere glacier basin.
